2.2.1 Completion of the Booking Form (including, for the avoidance of doubt, the provision of your credit or debit card details) shall constitute an offer by you to purchase Tickets subject to these terms and conditions;
2.2.2 If booking online, upon electronic receipt of the correctly filed Booking Form and confirmation that you have sufficient funds to cover the total cost of the booking, the Theatre will send you a Confirmation via e-mail which shall constitute its acceptance of your booking. If the Theatre receives a prompt notification that the Confirmation was not delivered successfully, then the Theatre will use reasonable endeavours to notify you of your booking by other means.
If booking in person, the issuance of a confirmation email or a physical Ticket will have the same effect.
2.3 The prices and availability of the Tickets are specified on the Theatre’s website and via the Box Office. These details are based on the best available information and the Theatre is not obliged to conclude any Contract on these terms.
2.4 You are entirely responsible for entering your details correctly on the Booking Form. You warrant that all details supplied by you are true and accurate. If there are any changes to your details once your booking is concluded then it is your responsibility to inform the Theatre.
2.5 Where a person makes a booking on behalf of a party, that person accepts these terms and conditions on behalf of all members of the party and is responsible for all payments due from the party. This person is responsible for the forwarding of any relevant information regarding the production to members of the party.
2.6 Booking services with the Theatre are only available to persons who are at least 16 years of age. By submitting a Booking Form you warrant and confirm to the Theatre that you comply with those arrangements.

5.1.1 In order to take advantage of this service, we will need to be notified no later than 24 hours before the performance start time. Any cancellations after this time cannot be credited.
5.1.2 If the only seats available for the alternative performance are more expensive, you will need to pay the excess. Equally, if the only seats available are of a lower price than that which you paid, we will credit you the difference.
5.2 The Theatre does not permit Tickets to be refunded, except where a performance has been cancelled by the Theatre or abandoned when less than half the performance has taken place. Where monies are refunded, such refunds are limited to the face value of the Tickets purchased and the booking fee.
5.3 Due to the nature of the Theatre’s programme, some sightline issues can develop during the production process. In instances where the Theatre perceives that the seat(s) booked moves from an unobstructed view to a highly restricted view the theatre reserves the right to swap your seat to another of an equivalent original price band. Where this is not possible, the Theatre will contact you via the details you have provided to offer alternative options. You must reply to the Theatre within the detailed timescales. Where a resolution is not possible, the Theatre will issue a refund.

8.1.3 Access patrons will make themselves fully familiar with the Access pages on the Theatre’s website, and follow all relevant guidance and procedures within those pages and provided by Theatre staff.

9. Condition of Entry
9.1 Our staff are here to enhance your experience and to ensure your safety at all times. You agree that you and your party will follow any instruction they give in relation to your and others' comfort and safety.
9.2 Unless you have chosen to have your E-tickets (digital) sent to the email address you have provided, Tickets must be collected from the Box Office at least 15 minutes before the advertised start time of the performance. The Theatre does not provide postal Ticket delivery.
9.3 Latecomers may not be admitted to the event. The policy is determined on a show-by-show basis, dependent upon the wishes of the performing artist or company, the configuration of the seating and staging and the nature of the performance. Where can we admit latecomers, you will be required to use alternative seats in a lower price band.
9.4. Original seats booked by Latecomers may be reallocated to other audience members at the Theatre’s discretion.
9.5 Re-admission cannot be guaranteed. Audience members who leave the auditorium once the performance has started, may be asked to wait in the foyer until an appropriate moment in the performance to be re-admitted. If there is no appropriate moment or admittance will cause disruption, re-admittance may be refused. Where can we re-admit, you may be required to use alternative seats in a lower price band.
9.6 The taking of photographs, capturing of images or the use of any recording devices including mobile phones during any performance is strictly prohibited, unless written permission has been granted by the Theatre. The Theatre reserves the right to ask individuals to leave without refund.
9.7 You are responsible for checking any content advisory and/or trigger warnings (such as flashing lights, smoke, haze, loud sounds) prior to attending the performance. Final trigger warning will be sent in the pre-show email and displayed in the Theatre. You are responsible for contacting the Box Office prior to the performance date if you have any concerns.
9.8 For any events of a participatory nature, it is your responsibility to ensure that you are wearing appropriate clothing as outlined in the event description, and are able to safely undertake any physical activity taking place in the event.
10. Security and Safety
10.1 Abusive, anti-social or threatening behaviour of any kind towards another member of the audience or staff will result in immediate removal from the premises without refund and may end in legal action. What behaviour constitutes Abusive, anti-social or threatening is solely at the Theatre’s discretion.

Any lost property found may be disposed of after one month after discovery.
10.7 You are not permitted to bring any potentially dangerous items onto the premises. These include personal electronics, flammable substances, lithium ion batteries, e-scooters or e-bikes. What constitutes as potentially dangerous is at the Theatre’s sole discretion.
10.8 You may be charged for any deliberate or reckless damage made by you or your party within the Theatre, and will take no action that contravenes the Theatre’s legal duties, licenses, or insurances.

MembershipS and PatronS
These Terms and Conditions apply to all Memberships, Supporter Friends and Patron Scheme purchases at The Coronet Theatre. By purchasing, renewing or using a Membership or Patron tier, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and by the Theatre’s general ticketing Terms and Conditions published on our website.
1. Definitions
1.1 In these Terms, unless the context requires otherwise:
“Memberships and Patron Schemes” means all paid annual or monthly membership tiers and Patron tiers as described on the Theatre’s website, including, without limitation, Priority Booker, Friend, Supporter Friend, Student Membership (where applicable), and all Patron Scheme tiers (currently including Piano Bar, Club Room, Print Room, Cupola and Honorary Trustees).
“Benefits” means the privileges associated with a particular Membership or Patron tier as set out on the Theatre’s website, in membership or patron literature, or in email communications from the Theatre.
“Theatre” means The Coronet Theatre, 103 Notting Hill Gate, London W11 3LB, operated by The Print Room Theatre (company number 07034118).
“You” means the individual purchasing, holding or using a Membership or Patron Scheme, and “your” shall be interpreted accordingly.
1.2 Where relevant, references in these Terms to “Memberships and Patron Schemes” include renewals and upgrades, except where stated otherwise.
2. Contract formation
2.1 A contract for the purchase of a Membership or Patron Scheme is formed when the Theatre accepts your order and issues a confirmation (for example, by email or by updating your online account).
2.2 The Theatre is under no obligation to accept any application for Membership or Patron Scheme and may refuse any application, renewal or upgrade at its discretion.
2.3 It is your responsibility to ensure that all details supplied at the point of purchase are accurate and kept up to date; changes must be notified promptly to the Theatre.
3. Membership and Patron periods
3.1 Unless otherwise stated on the Theatre’s website or in promotional material, annual Membership and Patron tiers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase or renewal.
3.2 Where a tier is advertised as a monthly membership, it operates on a rolling basis and continues until cancelled by you or the Theatre in accordance with these Terms.
3.3 The Theatre may from time to time offer promotional or fixed‑term Memberships with different start/end dates, which will be clearly indicated at the point of sale.
3.4 Where a monthly membership is sold as a 12‑month commitment or includes tiered benefits calculated on an annual value, this commitment will be clearly stated at purchase; early cancellation will not release you from liability for the minimum annual amount owed, and any outstanding balance may be charged on cancellation where specified in the offer terms.
4. Renewal, auto‑renewal and cancellation
4.1 At the end of the applicable Membership or Patron period, your Membership or Patron Scheme will lapse unless you renew or have opted into auto‑renewal.
4.2 Where you choose auto‑renewal, you authorise the Theatre (or its payment provider) to collect the renewal payment at the then‑current rate using your stored payment details; you will be notified in advance of renewal and may opt out at any time before the renewal date.
4.3 Unless expressly stated otherwise at the point of purchase, Membership and Patron fees are non‑refundable once the purchase has been confirmed, except where required by law or as set out in clauses 4.4 and 4.5.
4.4 You have a statutory right to cancel a Membership or Patron purchase within 14 days of the date of contract (the “cooling‑off period”). If you cancel within this period and have not used any Benefits, you will receive a full refund of your Membership or Patron fee.
4.5 If you have used any Benefits during the cooling‑off period (for example, priority booking, discounts, or access to events), the Theatre may deduct the value of those Benefits or cancel affected tickets/discounts before issuing any refund.
4.6 After the cooling‑off period, you may cancel your Membership or Patron Scheme at any time, but no refund (full or pro‑rata) will usually be given for any unexpired period unless required by law or explicitly stated in a specific offer.
4.7 The Theatre reserves the right to withdraw or suspend auto‑renewal and/or to amend renewal processes upon reasonable notice.
5. Benefits and availability
5.1 Benefits are as described on the Theatre’s website, membership pages or supporting literature.
5.2 All Benefits are subject to availability, capacity, scheduling and the Theatre’s operational requirements, and may vary by production, event or season.
5.3 Membership or Patron status does not guarantee access to tickets for any performance; priority booking provides an opportunity to purchase tickets before general sale, but tickets may sell out.
5.4 Unless explicitly indicated, ticket costs, travel, accommodation, food, drink and other ancillary expenses are not included in Membership or Patron fees.
5.5 The Theatre reserves the right to amend, substitute or withdraw specific Benefits during the Membership or Patron period where reasonably necessary (for example, due to programming or supplier changes), provided that the overall nature of the scheme is not materially diminished.
5.6 Where public recognition is part of a Patron tier, this may be provided, for example, via the Theatre’s website, foyer displays, digital or printed programmes, or other appropriate formats; the Theatre retains editorial control over all recognition.
5.7 Benefits are for personal use only unless expressly stated, and may not be resold, used for commercial promotions or transferred for financial gain.
6. Conduct, use and transfer
6.1 Memberships and Patron Schemes are non‑transferable and may be used only by the named individual, except where specific guest or household benefits are explicitly included.
6.2 The Theatre reserves the right to refuse entry, suspend Benefits, or terminate a Membership or Patron Scheme (without refund) if you or your guests behave in a way that is, in the Theatre’s reasonable opinion, unsafe, aggressive, discriminatory, disruptive or otherwise in breach of venue policies or the ticketing Terms and Conditions.
6.3 You must comply with all relevant venue rules, health and safety requirements, and instructions from staff when using Membership or Patron Benefits.
6.4 Any attempt to sell or transfer Membership cards, Patron status or associated Benefits for commercial gain may result in cancellation of the Membership or Patron Scheme without refund and refusal of future applications.
7. Gift Aid and donations
7.1 Where a Membership or Patron fee includes a voluntary donation element, and you are a UK taxpayer, the Theatre may invite you to complete a Gift Aid declaration so that the applicable donation portion can be treated as a Gift Aid-eligible donation in accordance with HMRC rules.
7.2 Gift Aid can only be claimed where:
- you have paid at least as much UK Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax as the Theatre (and any other charities you support) will reclaim on your donations in the tax year, and
- the Theatre holds a valid, current Gift Aid declaration from you.
7.3 Gift Aid cannot normally be claimed on Memberships or Patron fees purchased as a gift for someone else or on any element that represents a significant benefit exceeding HMRC limits.
7.4 It is your responsibility to inform the Theatre if your tax status changes or if you wish to cancel or amend your Gift Aid declaration.
8. Fees, payment and tax
8.1 Membership and Patron prices and any associated payment schedules are set out on the Theatre’s website and are inclusive of VAT where applicable.
8.2 Payment must be made using methods accepted by the Theatre (as indicated online or by the Box Office). The Theatre may refuse or cancel any order where payment is not received in full or where fraud is suspected.
8.3 Where a Membership or Patron tier is described as including a donation, the donation element is treated as a voluntary contribution and is non‑refundable except where required by law.
8.4 You are responsible for any tax consequences of your Membership or Patron contributions and should seek your own independent advice if required.
9. Data protection and communications
9.1 The Theatre will process your personal data for the purposes of administering Memberships and Patron Schemes, including processing payments, delivering Benefits, managing renewals and complying with legal obligations, in accordance with its Privacy Policy.
9.2 As a Member or Patron you will receive essential service communications relating to your Membership or Patron tier (for example, renewal notices, changes to Benefits or event information). Marketing preferences for broader Theatre communications can be updated at any time using the methods described in the Privacy Policy or in email footers.
10. Changes, suspension and termination
10.1 The Theatre may amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Where changes materially affect your Membership or Patron Scheme, the Theatre will provide reasonable notice by email or website announcement.
10.2 The Theatre may suspend or terminate a Membership or Patron Scheme (in whole or in part) if:
- you materially breach these Terms or the general ticketing Terms and Conditions
- you misuse Benefits
- your payment is reversed, refused or subject to a chargeback
- the Theatre reasonably decides to discontinue a Membership or Patron tier or scheme.
10.3 In the event of scheme closure or significant modification, the Theatre will endeavour to honour existing Benefits for the remainder of the current term or offer a reasonable alternative or partial refund, subject to legal and operational constraints.
10.4 The Theatre will not be liable for any failure to perform its obligations under these Terms where such failure is due to events beyond its reasonable control (including but not limited to acts of God, fire, flood, strikes, pandemics, government restrictions or technical failures).
11. Liability
11.1 Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes the Theatre’s liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
11.2 Subject to clause 11.1, the Theatre’s total liability arising in connection with your Membership or Patron Scheme will be limited to the total amount paid by you for that Membership or Patron period, and the Theatre will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss such as loss of profit, goodwill or travel/accommodation costs.
12. Governing law
12.1 These Terms and Conditions and any disputes or claims arising out of or in connection with them are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
12.2 The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to any dispute or claim arising from these Terms or your Membership or Patron Scheme, although the Theatre retains the right to bring proceedings in any other relevant jurisdiction.
13. Relationship to general Terms
Where these Membership and Patron Terms do not expressly address an issue, the Theatre’s general ticketing Terms and Conditions apply, including definitions, contract formation, ticketing arrangements, conduct and venue rules, as published on the Theatre’s website.
This policy was last updated on 21 January 2026.
Gift Aid
The Coronet Theatre is a registered charity (Charity Number: 1141921) and is able to claim Gift Aid on eligible donations in accordance with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) regulations.
1. What is Gift Aid
Gift Aid is a UK government scheme that allows charities to claim an additional amount from HMRC on eligible donations made by UK taxpayers, at no extra cost to the donor. Where eligible, Gift Aid significantly increases the value of donations made to The Coronet Theatre and supports its charitable mission as London’s home of international arts.
2. Eligibility
Gift Aid can be claimed on a donation if:
- The donor is an individual UK Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax payer for the relevant tax year.
- The donor has paid at least as much UK tax as the total Gift Aid that will be claimed on all their donations to charities and Community Amateur Sports Clubs in that tax year.
- A valid and current Gift Aid declaration has been completed and received by the Theatre.
Gift Aid cannot be claimed if, for example:
- The donor is not a UK taxpayer.
- The donation is made on behalf of someone else or on behalf of a group.
- The donation is made by, or through, a company, trust or other non‑individual entity (these may be eligible for different tax reliefs, but not individual Gift Aid).
- The donor does not pay enough UK tax to cover the Gift Aid claimed on all of their charitable donations.
3. Donations eligible for Gift Aid
Subject to the eligibility criteria in section 2, Gift Aid may be claimed on:
- One‑off donations.
- Regular donations (for example, standing orders or direct debits).
- The eligible donation element of Memberships and Patron Schemes, where applicable and clearly identified as a donation.
Where Memberships or Patron Schemes include benefits with a monetary value (for example, priority booking or hospitality), only the donation portion that falls within HMRC’s benefit limits can be treated as eligible for Gift Aid.
4. Memberships and Patron Schemes
4.1 Calculation of eligible amounts
Where Memberships or Patron Schemes combine benefits and a donation:
- The Theatre will determine and record the benefit value and the separate voluntary donation element.
- Gift Aid will only be claimed on the donation element that is within HMRC’s permitted benefit thresholds.
- Where required, the benefit and donation values will be clearly communicated to the donor (for example, on the website, in membership materials or on receipts).
4.2 Situations where Gift Aid cannot be claimed
Gift Aid cannot be claimed on:
- Memberships or Patron Schemes purchased as a gift for another person.
- Payments where the value of benefits received by the donor exceeds the limits set by HMRC for Gift Aid eligibility.
- Payments that are primarily in return for goods or services, rather than voluntary donations.
5. Gift Aid declarations
To enable Gift Aid claims, The Coronet Theatre must hold a valid Gift Aid declaration confirming that:
- The donor wishes Gift Aid to apply to their donations to The Coronet Theatre (and, if applicable, to past and/or future donations as specified).
- The donor is a UK taxpayer and understands that they must pay enough UK Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover the Gift Aid claimed on their donations.
- The donor understands that it is their responsibility to notify the Theatre of any change in circumstances affecting their eligibility.
Declarations may be made:
- Online at the point of donation or purchase (for example, via a tick‑box statement).
- In writing (for example, by form, letter or email).
- Verbally, provided that the Theatre records the declaration and confirms it in writing to the donor.
Unless otherwise specified, a declaration will normally remain valid until it is cancelled by the donor or the donor ceases to be eligible for Gift Aid.
6. Donor responsibilities
Donors are responsible for:
- Ensuring that they are, and remain, eligible to make a Gift Aid declaration.
- Ensuring that they pay enough UK Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax in each tax year to cover the total Gift Aid claimed on all their donations to charities and CASCs.
- Informing The Coronet Theatre promptly if:
- they cease to be a UK taxpayer,
- they no longer pay sufficient tax to cover the Gift Aid claimed, or
- they wish to cancel or amend their Gift Aid declaration.
If a donor has not paid enough tax to cover the Gift Aid claimed on their donations, HMRC may require the donor (not the charity) to pay any difference.
7. Refunds and Gift Aid
If a donation is refunded or partially refunded:
- The Theatre will adjust or, where necessary, repay to HMRC any Gift Aid previously claimed on the refunded amount.
- Where appropriate, the donor will be informed that Gift Aid has been adjusted in line with HMRC requirements.
When a donor asks to cancel a Gift Aid declaration, the Theatre will stop claiming Gift Aid on future donations from the date of cancellation; cancellations do not normally affect valid claims already submitted to HMRC.
8. Record‑keeping and HMRC compliance
The Theatre will:
- Keep appropriate records of donations, Gift Aid declarations and claims in line with HMRC requirements and applicable retention periods.
- Submit Gift Aid claims to HMRC accurately and in the prescribed format.
- Make records available to HMRC if requested for audit or compliance checks.
Staff or volunteers involved in processing donations and Gift Aid will be given appropriate guidance to ensure procedures comply with current HMRC rules.
9. Data protection
Personal data collected for Gift Aid purposes (including name, address, contact details and tax status confirmations) will be used to:
- Process and audit Gift Aid claims.
- Contact donors about matters relating to their declarations where necessary.
All personal data will be handled in accordance with The Coronet Theatre’s Privacy Policy and applicable data protection legislation.
10. Contact and changes
10.1 Policy changes
The Coronet Theatre reserves the right to amend this Gift Aid Policy and Procedures to reflect:
- Changes in HMRC regulations or guidance.
- Changes in charity law or data protection law.
- Operational or administrative updates to the Theatre’s processes.
Updated versions of this policy will be made available on request and, where appropriate, on the Theatre’s website.
11. Contact
If you have questions about Gift Aid, wish to amend or cancel a Gift Aid declaration, or believe you are no longer eligible for Gift Aid, please contact the Theatre’s Development Team at giving@thecoronettheatre.com

Ethical Fundraising Policy
The Coronet Theatre is a registered charity (Charity Number: 1141921) and relies on supporter schemes, memberships, patronage, donations, sponsorship and legacies (“Donations”) to fulfil its charitable objectives as London’s home of international arts. This policy sets out the principles and guidelines for accepting and managing Donations from individuals, companies, trusts and foundations (“Supporters”) so that fundraising is ethical, lawful and aligned with the Theatre’s values and artistic independence.
1. Purpose and scope
This policy applies to:
- All voluntary income including individual donations, Memberships and Patron Schemes, corporate sponsorship, trusts and foundations, legacies and in‑kind support (collectively “Donations”).
- All Trustees, staff, volunteers and third parties who solicit or receive Donations on behalf of The Coronet Theatre.
It does not cover statutory or lottery funding, which is governed by separate frameworks and agreements.
2. Regulatory framework
Fundraising at The Coronet Theatre will comply with:
- Charity law and guidance from the Charity Commission for England and Wales, including guidance on accepting, refusing and returning donations.
- The Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Fundraising Practice and its core values of being legal, open, honest and respectful.
- Relevant UK legislation on consumer protection, anti‑money laundering, counter‑terrorism, equality, human rights and data protection.
Where The Coronet Theatre uses external agencies or partners for fundraising, they will be expected to comply with this policy and the Code of Fundraising Practice.
3. Trustee and organisational responsibility
3.1 Trustees
The Trustees have overall responsibility for ensuring that fundraising:
- Advances the charity’s purposes and is in the best interests of the charity and its beneficiaries.
- Manages risks to the charity’s reputation, beneficiaries, staff and assets, including risks associated with particular donors or campaigns.
- Complies with relevant regulation, guidance and this policy.
Trustees must be able to demonstrate that decisions to accept, refuse or return Donations are made within their powers, having properly balanced financial, ethical and reputational factors.
3.2 Staff and volunteers
Fundraising activity is led by the Theatre’s Development function and overseen by senior management and the Board. Staff and volunteers involved in fundraising must:
- Follow this policy and the Code of Fundraising Practice.
- Escalate significant, unusual or sensitive Donations to senior management and/or Trustees for consideration.
4. Principles of ethical fundraising
The Coronet Theatre is committed to fundraising that is:
- Legal – in full compliance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
- Open and honest – clear about who is fundraising, why funds are needed and how they will be used, with no misleading information or misrepresentation.
- Respectful – treating donors and the public fairly, not placing undue pressure on anyone to give, and promptly respecting requests to end contact.
- Protective of beneficiaries and staff – recognising and managing fundraising risks so that activities do not harm beneficiaries, staff, volunteers or the public.
No person acting for or on behalf of the Theatre may:
- Use harassing, aggressive or unreasonably persistent approaches.
- Take advantage of someone who is in a vulnerable circumstance or lacks capacity to make an informed decision.
5. Acceptance of donations and sponsorship
5.1 General approach
The Coronet Theatre welcomes support that:
- Helps deliver its charitable objectives and programme.
- Is compatible with its values, artistic independence and reputation.
- Can be accepted and used in accordance with charity law and this policy.
5.2 Right to refuse or return Donations
The Theatre reserves the right to decline or, in exceptional circumstances, seek authority to return a Donation or Sponsorship where acceptance could reasonably be considered to:
- Conflict with the Theatre’s charitable purposes or values.
- Compromise artistic independence or unduly influence programming decisions.
- Pose a serious risk to the Theatre’s reputation, beneficiaries, staff, or future fundraising.
- Originate from, or be connected with, illegal activity (for example, terrorism, money‑laundering or other criminal conduct).
The Theatre will not knowingly accept funds derived from criminal sources. If such concerns arise after acceptance, the Theatre will follow relevant legal and regulatory guidance, including not returning funds where this would breach anti‑money‑laundering or counter‑terrorism rules, and may seek regulatory or legal advice.
5.3 Decision‑making and due diligence
- All significant or potentially sensitive Donations (for example, high‑value gifts, unusual conditions, or donors with controversial public profiles) will be subject to due diligence and, where appropriate, referred to senior management and/or the Board.
- When assessing a Donation, the Theatre will consider the balance between the benefit of the funding and potential risks, and any steps that could mitigate those risks.
6. Equality, ethics and risk assessment
When soliciting or accepting funding, The Coronet Theatre will:
- Undertake proportionate checks on the ethics, conduct and public record of organisations and individuals where there are potential concerns.
- Avoid entering into fundraising relationships with organisations whose core activities or public record demonstrably conflict with the Equality Act 2010, internationally recognised human rights standards, or environmental protection law.
- Not accept sponsorship from sectors where advertising or association would be legally restricted or clearly inappropriate for the Theatre’s audiences (for example, products restricted by age or health legislation in ways incompatible with the Theatre’s work or audience profile).
- Consider the potential impact of an association on beneficiaries, staff, artists and audiences, including those who may be disproportionately affected.
Accepting funding does not imply endorsement of a Supporter’s wider views, policies or activities; any public acknowledgement will focus on the support given to the Theatre’s work.
7. Conditions, influence and use of funds
Donations and Sponsorship will be used in line with:
- the Theatre’s charitable constitution and objectives
- any agreed, lawful restrictions or purposes communicated to and accepted by the Theatre
- applicable charity law and regulatory guidance.
The Theatre will not agree to conditions that:
- Give donors improper influence over artistic or programming decisions.
- Require the Theatre to act contrary to its charitable purposes, legal duties or policies.
The Theatre will seek to avoid over‑reliance on any single donor or income source so far as reasonably practicable, to safeguard independence and financial resilience.
8. Transparency, recognition and reporting
The Coronet Theatre will:
- Communicate honestly with donors about how their support will be used, including any restrictions or designations where agreed.
- Recognise Supporters in a manner consistent with their wishes and the Theatre’s policies (for example, programmes, website, foyer displays), while retaining editorial control over all communications.
- Provide appropriate reporting on major grants, sponsorships and restricted funds, in line with agreements and regulatory requirements.
Membership, Patron Schemes and other supporter offers will clearly describe the nature of benefits and any limits or conditions that apply.
9. Complaints and concerns
- Any concerns or complaints about fundraising activity will be taken seriously and handled promptly, fairly and in line with the Theatre’s complaints procedures.
- Information on how to raise a fundraising complaint, and the timescales for response, will be made available to supporters.
