Fill 2023: Violence

(This is a past event and is no longer running)

ANDREA TARABBIA & FABIO BACà

‘Violence’ is something that now lurks invisibly in European societies; something hidden which we consider far from our daily lives and linked to an experience of the past. We encounter it in the media but we never assume that it really affects us. Yet it is there, hiding beneath the quietness of everyday life, always ready to explode.

Andrea Tarabbia and Fabio Bacà are two novelists who have explored the vast spectrum of human emotions through their characters and stories, particularly considering how violent acts come to be. Both novelists are well positioned to show how novels are, once again, the best tools to unearth the invisible and render it to us in a different perspective.

Chair: Emiliano Zappalà
