A theatrical journey through the work of renowned director, poet and writer Pier Paolo Pasolini, Ma takes the first syllable of the word ‘mamma’ and guides us on a journey through the great artist’s oeuvre, where the mother is both a muse and weapon in the battle of life.

First presented at Piccolo Teatro in Milan, Ma is performed by award-winning Candida Nieri and directed by Antonio Latella, Artistic Director of Theatre for the Venice Biennale.

On Saturday 25th November there will be a post-show talk with Antonio Latella and Monica Capuani for the 10th encounter of the “Contemporary” series usually held at the Italian Cultural Institute.

Curated and moderated by Monica Capuani, “Contemporary” is a series of encounters – conversations, readings and live performances – presenting an authoritative overview of Italian contemporary theatre to the British audience.

Italian actors, playwrights and directors, acclaimed masters and successful new voices, talk about their artistic research and discuss with important figures of British contemporary theatre.
