Paula Quintana: Las Alegrías

(This is a past event and is no longer running)

dANCE

Internationally renowned contemporary and flamenco dancer and choreographer Paula Quintana brings her award-winning solo dance piece Las Alegrías (The Joys) to The Coronet Theatre for its UK premiere.

Las Alegrías (The Joys) embarks on a journey through the performer’s body exploring the generating, transforming and revolutionary power of joy as a vital, political act.

Performed on a body of water, this multidisciplinary spectacle draws on the works of feminist writer and activist Roy Galán, culminating in a celebration of the creative, feminine and mysterious powers of joy.

This accompanied solo dance piece reveals the committed leap of an artist determined to be transformed by life and by the stage.
