Shadows has its own universe, open, clear and at the same time disturbing and enigmatic.” –Kari Holtan, Director

Written by multi-award-winning Norwegian playwright Jon Fosse, Shadows blends video, sound and live performance to create an electric experience which explores marriage, infidelity, youth and old age. Children give voice to the live performers as once buried emotional memories resurface in this memorable theatrical event. Fosse’s awards include The Ibsen Award, European Prize for Literature, Nordic Council Literature Prize as well as being celebrated as Norway’s ‘new Ibsen’.

Shadows premiered in Oslo in 2009 and has subsequently been performed at the Bergen International Festival and on a worldwide tour. The Coronet Theatre presents its UK premiere.
