Our Spaces
The Coronet Theatre is an historic, Grade II listed venue with many unique architectural features. While this means that some parts of the theatre may not be fully accessible, we continue to explore the ways in which we can improve the experience for all guests.
To help plan your visit, here is an overview of our main spaces:
Foyer
There are 3 small steps up from street level to the entrance foyer. In the foyer you will find a box office team where you can collect your tickets, and ushers who can support you with information about the venue and the show you are coming to see. Staff will also be happy to bring chairs down into the foyer should they be required.
Rotunda Corridor
There are 8 steps up, with handrails on both sides, from the foyer to the rotunda corridor which connects the foyer to the main auditorium, studio, accessible toilet and cloakroom, and leads to the downstairs toilets and bar.
Patrons are welcome to take a seat and wait in the rotunda corridor while waiting for the auditorium doors to open, where there are chairs and a comfortable sofa. At times, this is a quieter alternative to waiting in the bar area or foyer.
Main Auditorium
The main entrance to the building has 3 steps from the street to the foyer, and then a further 8 steps from the foyer to the auditorium level. Our main auditorium space has 195 seats.
Seating for most of our performances is allocated so that you can choose where you would like to sit. We have accessible seats that are reserved for patrons who require them (subject to availability).
We have one stairlift and a ramp to provide access to both entrances of the auditorium. At present, our theatre can accommodate wheelchair users who can self-transfer into a stairlift chair and are accompanied by a companion.
There are two wheelchair spaces in our main auditorium. These spaces are located right next to the auditorium entrances.
Print Room Studio
Access to the Print Room studio involves 6 steps down from street level. The Print Room Studio is a versatile space that we usually use for rehearsals, poetry events, music performances, readings, exhibitions, screenings, and workshops. Patrons with access requirements can use a stairlift at the rear of the building. The accessible toilet is also located in this space.
The studio has a maximum capacity of 80 people.
Bar
Our bar is located in what used to be the stalls of the original Coronet Theatre. As a result, the floor is sloped and unfortunately there is no step-free access. From the auditorium there are 24 steps down to the bar level.
The lighting in the bar is low, as it is predominantly lit by candles, creating an atmospheric and intimate environment. While the bar itself is not fully accessible, our front-of-house team can bring drinks to you anywhere in the building, both before and after the show.
The Coronet Theatre bar is a lively, furnished space, and some visitors with access requirements may find it more difficult to navigate at busy times.
If you have any specific requirements, please speak to a member of our team and we will be happy to accommodate you.
Toilets
There are ladies, gents, and single-cubicle gender-neutral toilets available at Bar level, and up the stairs at the rear of the auditorium.
An accessible toilet is located in the Print Room Studio. There is a grab bar at the side of the toilet.
If you would like to discuss any of the above with our team, please contact our Box Office on 020 3642 6606 or email access@thecoronettheatre.com.
