T.h.e Dance Company: Searching Blue《寻蓝》

Book tickets

How often do we stop to notice our surroundings and the people we pass by each day?

Searching Blue《寻蓝》is a hybrid indoor and outdoor performance from The Human Expression (T.H.E) Dance Company, one of Singapore’s seminal contemporary dance collectives, accompanied by a live soundscape by Malaysian sound artist Kent Lee.

Starting with a full-length performance in The Coronet Theatre auditorium, five dance artists will then guide the audience to a surprising nearby venue, unfolding across a series of garden sites and a backdrop of spectacular architecture.

Created by T.H.E’s founding artistic director Kuik Swee Boon, the piece is inspired by his daily commute, the relationships we have with our environment and the people around us. Searching Blue《寻蓝》offers intimate engagements between dancers and the audience, where subtle gestures and live sound shape an atmosphere of reflection and closeness.

Whether you choose to respond to the dancers’ gentle invitations to move with them, or simply observe from a distance, Searching Blue《寻蓝》offers a tender reminder: even amidst noise and bustle, it is still possible to pause, to sense, and to connect.

… Utterly beautiful… Another huge success for T.H.E and a wonderful, spiritual experience for those of us lucky enough to witness it.” – Broadway World

A beautiful experience that… made me feel connected to nature, architecture and people… I left the performance feeling my senses awakened. Powerful performance…”
- Rachel, audience member, Singapore
